Overview
This course will provide information on providing the basics of health plan compliance, and provide the health insurance professional with a baseline understanding of their responsibilities and requirements related to employer sponsored health plans. We will cover ERISA, ERISA disclosure requirements, ERISA reporting requirements, fiduciary roles, IRS & ACA compliance, Cafeteria Plans, and HIPAA Privacy & Security. All of these are federal laws which health insurance professionals and their employer clients must comply with, and therefore is very relevant to insurance products and insurance topics.

Completion Requirements
Students are required to watch the entire video lesson or lessons. Students will have 90 minutes to complete the test with a 70% score (complete 7 of 10 correct answers), and students will be given 3 opportunities to take and pass the online test. Courses are available for 60 days from the time of enrollment / purchase. After expiration students can no longer access the course.

This course includes two hours of California DOI For Credit content for life/health licenses. Total program length 2 hours.
This course has been pre-approved by the California Department of Insurance for 2 hours of life/accident/health CE credit. Course Number 386165. You will receive a certificate of completion with the CE course number after you complete the course and successfully pass the test with a 70% or greater score. Course must be completed within 60 days of registering for the class. You will have 90 minutes to complete the exam (10 questions with 7 correct answers). You will be given 2 additional opportunities to pass the test if needed. CE credit will be submitted to the CA Department of Insurance upon completion by Advanced Benefit Consulting, the CE provider.
