Program Details & Times

9:45 10:00 am—Registration and Check-in

10:00-10:45 am—Legal Considerations of Using AI —Presented by Marilyn Monahan, ESQ, Monahan Law Office
They predict that AI will revolutionize the workplace. But what is the legal landscape for AI use? Are there laws in place governing the use of AI? Are there risks and vulnerabilities employers should consider before adopting AI systems? This program will help you under-stand the existing legal landscape, identify the legal risks and vulnerabilities created by AI use, and prepare for the imple-mentation of AI in the workplace. “The use of this seal confirms that this activity has met HR Certification Institute’s® (HRCI®) criteria for recertification credit pre-approval.” .75 hours of HRCI General Credit.

10:45-10:55 Break

10:55-12:15— AI Workshop Using ChatGPT4; The Positives, The Negatives, and How it Can Help (or Hurt) Your Organization—Presented by Dorothy Cociu and Adriana Mendieta
ChatGPT and other AI programs have stepped in to assist an overly stressed, overly worked Human Resources Staff, by taking some of the burden off of HR Professionals by performing some mundane and time-consuming tasks. AI programs are being used for narrowing down job applicants, assisting in writing of job descriptions, Value Propositions, and more. And for your marketing/promotions team, AI is helping to write promotional articles, social media copy, and many other job functions. AI programs are also likely a major part of your website’s Chatbot activities. Generative AI does what the user directs it to do, and that is where the breakdown is. Good prompts can help you, and bad prompts or incomplete prompts can hurt you, particularly for HR functions as HR deals with confidential data. This “workshop” course walks you through using programs like ChatGPT, and helps you understand how to do it right. We’ll help you deter-mine how much detail you need to provide the program in prompts to get the result you want, and show you examples of how incomplete or ineffective prompts can hurt your organization. “The use of this seal confirms that this activity has met HR Certification Institute’s® (HRCI®) criteria for recertification credit pre-approval.” 1.25 hours of HRCI General Credit.

12:15-1:00 Lunch

1:00-2:30— Panel Presentation and Q&A on AI Security and Privacy Protections, AI & Cyber Liability, and Keeping Your Data Safe –Panelists: Marilyn Monahan, Dorothy Cociu, Adriana Mendieta, Eric Barricklow
Artificial Intelligence has left many companies wondering about what is needed to use the efficiencies of AI, but not compromise the privacy and security of the company and employees’ data. How can you do both? This course discusses the common (or soon to be com-mon) uses of AI in Human Resources, the channels HR professionals should be working through to assure employer approval and data security, and the importance of “doing it right.” Our panel will discuss the basics of AI, hybrid intelligence, machine intelligence, genera-tive AI content creation, prompt engineering and more. We also discuss the employee internal resource (part of the HRIS) or external resource (ChatGPT), which have varying requirements from an approval and security perspective, and non-employee perspective (how applicants, headhunters, search engines, competitors and others use AI). Specifically, we will discuss the impact of workflow and pro-duction, the use of proper security and approval channels, and the dangers of using ChatGPT and other AI programs, and how those dan-gers can be minimized. We will also discuss the use of AI in Benefits Administration and Legal Implications of AI, and the largest concerns related to privacy & security of data when using AI from an administrative, legal, and IT perspective. What types of Policies and Proce-dures do you need to have in place? What can you do to confirm AI-generated content for accuracy? Do you need AI and Cyber Liability Policies in place before using AI? Our panel will address all of these issues, and will allow time for audience questions and answers from the expert panel. “The use of this seal confirms that this activity has met HR Certification Institute’s® (HRCI®) criteria for recertification credit pre-approval.” 1.25 Hours of HRCI General Credit.
